Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine have it all — with serene beaches and world-class dining, A-rated schools and high property values, and a variety of venues hosting the best touring bands in the U.S. today. From beautiful historic theaters to quaint concert halls, stadium arenas to epic outdoor amphitheaters, here’s our favorite places to enjoy live music.

Florida Theatre: 128 East Forsyth Street, #300, Jacksonville FL 32202

A beautiful and grand venue, the Florida Theatre opened on the corner of Forsyth and Newnan in downtown Jacksonville in 1927. Built to host live performances and motion pictures, this historic structure continues to operate as such today — pulling in epic talent and playing classic movies and unique cinematic events. Its stage has hosted acts from Elvis Presley to Fleetwood Mac, Richie Havens to Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as many impressive contemporary acts. And the elaborate interiors make every show all the more memorable. Built in the Spanish Eclectic Style, it boasts terrazzo floors, sparkling chandeliers and wall hangings woven in France and Italy. It’s a unique and special place to see any show. For a full events schedule and to purchase tickets, visit www.floridatheatre.com/events.

Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena: 300 A Philip Randolph Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32202

This state-of-the-art arena hosts a variety of shows, musical acts and sporting events. Elton John christened the stage at Veterans Memorial in 2003, playing its very first show. Other major musical acts have followed, like Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, Journey and so many more. The 15,000-seat arena also hosts family shows like Monster Jam and Disney on Ice, and is the home stadium to the Jacksonville Sharks, a professional indoor football team, the Jacksonville Waves, a professional women’s basketball team, and the Jacksonville Icemen, a minor league ice hockey team in the ECHL. Jack Rabbits: 1528 Hendricks Avenue Jacksonville, FL 32207

Jack Rabbits was established in 1999, and is located in the historic San Marco neighborhood, right off Hendricks Avenue. They’re known as one of the best places to see regional and national acts on a smaller stage, offering an intimate and comfortable venue. With a laid back atmosphere and welcoming staff, Jack Rabbits prides itself as a real live music club and concert house. They bring all genres of music to Jacksonville, from Americana to Indie Rock, comedy shows to Punk, and have hosted bands like Modest Mouse, Paramore and Fleet Foxes. Ponte Vedra Concert Hall: 1050 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida 32082

Ponte Vedra welcomes an incredible amount of talent at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall all year long, from rock & roll legends to stand-up comedy greats. Originally a Baptist church built in 1980, it became the PVCH in 2011, and underwent a massive $12.9 million renovation in 2024 — including a new top-tier sound and projection system and 25% more seating capacity. The intimate indoor experience has welcomed bands like The Wood Brothers, Neko Case, Iron & Wine and Indigo Girls. St. Augustine Amphitheatre: 1340C A1A South, St. Augustine, Florida 32080

The St. Augustine Amp is located on Anastasia Island in St. Augustine, and is set in the natural landscape of Anastasia State Park. This beautiful setting makes for an incredible outdoor concert experience, and there’s truly no bad seat in the house. The historic venue opened in 1965, and has been a fixture in the community ever since. It’s undergone major renovations in 2002, 2007 and 2018, and is now known as a state-of-the-art, internationally ranked performing arts venue — including being ranked #2 amphitheatre in the United States and #3 worldwide, according to Pollstar Magazine. Legends like Chicago, Diana Ross, The Beach Boys, Santana, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt and Rod Stewart have all played here, and more contemporary heavy hitters like The Avett Brothers, Billy Strings and Widespread Panic. Affectionately known as “The Amp,” you can buy tickets for upcoming shows at www.theamp.com/events.
