From beautiful historic theaters to quaint concert halls, stadium arenas to epic outdoor amphitheaters, here’s our favorite places to enjoy live music.

Florida Theatre: 128 East Forsyth Street, #300, Jacksonville FL 32202

A beautiful and grand venue, the Florida Theatre opened on the corner of Forsyth and Newnan in downtown Jacksonville in 1927. Built to host live performances and motion pictures, this historic structure continues to operate as such today — pulling in epic talent and playing classic movies and unique cinematic events. Its stage has hosted acts from Elvis Presley to Fleetwood Mac, Richie Havens to Lynyrd Skynyrd, as well as many impressive contemporary acts. And the elaborate interiors make every show all the more memorable. Built in the Spanish Eclectic Style, it boasts terrazzo floors, sparkling chandeliers and wall hangings woven in France and Italy. It’s a unique and special place to see any show. For a full events schedule and to purchase tickets, visit www.floridatheatre.com/events.

Locals on the First and Historic Coasts have a secret – over the last decade, it’s become the spot for musical artists wanting an intimate performing space. From smaller local artists to big-name performers, the area from Jacksonville to St. Augustine has become a destination for concert-goers wanting more than a traditional stadium show. So while you’ll still need to travel to Tampa for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, you’ll find the charming and historic venues of Northeast Florida offer an atmosphere all their own.

Florida Theater

Easily the oldest of the four venues, the Florida Theatre evokes the days of dressing for an evening performance. This historic venue opened in 1927, was added to the National Historic Register of Historic Places in 1983 and still maintains the original Art Deco vibe. The Florida Theatre hosts a wide variety of artists and performers, with something for all ages. Theater pieces like Madagascar, musical greats like Tom Jones and Clint Black, comedians the likes of Jim Gaffigan, specialty shows featuring Alton Brown and Cary Elwes, musical competitions, love recordings of popular podcasts and non-profit programs that offer free summer shows for children – there is literally something for everyone.

St. Augustine Amphitheatre

Lovingly referred to as The Amp by locals, the St. Augustine Amphitheatre may be as unique as they come. Nestled in the crook of one of Florida’s top state parks, Anastasia State Park, and situated on a barrier island, The Amp is an open-air venue, surrounded by the beach, historic oaks and wide swathes of palm hammocks. It offers one-of-a-kind experiences – where else can you enjoy sunrise yoga on the beach, led by Michael Franti, in the morning and enjoy his show in the evening? The Amp also offers two complimentary performing spaces – The Backyard Stage, a general-admission-only space for up-close-and-personal performances, and The Front Porch, a deck for community gatherings and acoustic performances during their Farmers and Night Markets.

With so many things to see and do, you are bound to make lasting memories while exploring the First Coast,” shares Davidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson. We’re sharing a few of our favorite neighborhoods that are worth visiting and exploring for yourself.

Murray Hill

Nestled between trendy Riverside and historic Avondale, you’ll find Murray Hill – an old neighborhood with new treasures to discover. Take a drive down Edgewood Avenue to truly get a sense of the good vibes of Murray Hill. A few of our favorite spots to visit in Murray Hill are Bold Birds Nashville Hot Chicken, Moon River Pizza, and the iconic Dreamette

Atlantic Beach

Relax and unwind in Atlantic Beach! From the breathtaking beaches and parks to the quaint town, you’ll be entertained for days. Check out local favorites Poe’s Tavern or Sub Cultured for a bite before hanging out at Jack Russell Park. Of course, you can’t pass up the opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean while you’re in the area.

Ortega

The small and historic community of Ortega offers a quiet neighborhood with waterfront views, while still being miles away from the urban core. Sitting just across the St. Johns River from Downtown Jacksonville makes Ortega one of the best places to view the skyline and watch the sunset. Stockton Park is a promising location to take in the best views… and try catching a fish or two.

Downtown

Where do you even begin with Downtown Jacksonville? A place where you can watch a Jacksonville Jaguar game at EverBank Field, catch a show at the Florida Theatre, or eat and drink at some of the best establishments in town, all within a few miles. Some of our favorite places to sit down for a bite are Indochine, Cowford Chophouse, and Intuition Ale Works

While all of these neighborhoods have their own unique personality, one thing is for sure, Northeast Florida is the PERFECT place to live!
