Davidson Realty agent Erin Mount steers donation effort for returning sailors

Amid her busy schedule as a Davidson Realtor, Erin Mount recently organized a donation drive for single sailors of Patrol Squadron 45 (VP-45) returning from deployment. It all started when a friend asked Erin for a donation to help returning sailors. She jumped at the opportunity to help—even seeking donations from others to maximize the effort.

Friends, local businesses and attendees of the monthly World Golf Village Networking Group all contributed to the drive. Agents and staff at Davidson also stepped in to help, including Gail George, Terri Apodaca, Liz Pappaceno, Ron Savarese, Mirtha Barzaga, Steve Rodriguez, Ethel Henry, Rebecca Schaffer, Kim Keith, Andrea Gallagher, Mattie Zebendon, Jim Davidson, Rochelle Richardson and Troy Silhan.

“Everybody was more than willing to participate,” said Erin. “I purchased the baskets and local businesses and individuals volunteered to fill them.”

In the end, more than 50 baskets were filled with items such as snacks, toiletries, household goods, books, gift cards and more. Representatives from the Officer’s Spouses’ Club picked up the baskets from the Davidson office and will be distributing them to VP-45 sailors at NAS Jax.

“These baskets help provide the comforts of home and everyday items they don’t have when returning from deployment into a barracks environment,” said Erin, whose son is currently in the Army ROTC at St. Augustine High School. “We are very thankful for all the generous donations.”

Erin has been a Davidson agent since 2013. She also co-leads the monthly World Golf Village Networking Group with fellow agent Terri Apodaca. The group is open to everyone and meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. For more information, click here.
