taps2Thanks to everyone who came out for our Beer Tasting Fundraiser at Taps Bar & Grill yesterday. Clearly you can’t go wrong with beer and food because we’re proud to report that we raised $950 for the American Cancer Society.  Over 50 people joined us to try six specialty beers which were paired with five delicious appetizers. From the Leffe Blonde Belgium Abbey all the way to Harpoon UFO Raspberry Hefeweizen, guests had a great time sipping beers and socializing for a great cause.

tapsfoodThe crispy pork belly on top of sticky rice with sweet and spicy chili sauce was by far my favorite appetizer! Most of us went back for seconds. We raffled a twosome for the Slammer & Squire golf course, a foursome for South Hampton’s beautiful course, 2 Jaguar tickets to the Jags/Texans game, and two $50 Taps gift cards. We had great participation in the raffles, which means even more money to the American Cancer Society – the official sponsor of birthdays!

Thanks again to everyone who came out, donated, or helped spread the word about our event. We couldn’t be prouder to sponsor this year’s World Golf Village Relay for Life. When my Mom told me that I would have to volunteer this past Saturday (Oct. 22) for Make a Difference Day, I wasn’t exactly excited.  I play tennis at Ponte Vedra High School on most Saturdays and then hang out with my friends or go to Vilano or St. Augustine Beach.  But as a student at Pacetti Bay Middle School, I am required to do some community service so I figured I may as well get involved with Make a Difference Day.

We teamed up with Davidson Realty who does a lot of community service.  Last year they built wheelchair-friendly access ramps for homes.  This year they connected with the St. Johns Housing Partnership to paint one of 12 homes in need in the St. Augustine area.  We met up Saturday morning at 8:30 at a small house just off King Street in St. Augustine.  Read more

amanda ronWe have quite a few “couples” in our Jacksonville, Florida realty office. Now when I refer to couples, I am not just referring to married teams like Pauline and Woody Cake or Carly and Bruce Weddle from Davidson Realty or Elsie and John Evans from Davidson Property Management. We have “couples” made up of new and seasoned agents. To help our new agents, we have a Mentoring Program to offer anyone joining our team a unique experience of one-on-one training. Amanda French shared with me that our new program was one of the reasons why she joined our team.

Amanda French also shared with me that her mentor, Ron Saverese, is very accessible, always available to ask questions and is as invested in her success as she is. “Ron has taken the time to help me with different marketing strategies, paperwork, contracts and listing agreements” says Amanda. Ron joined in the conversation giving Amanda props that she made it easy because of her enthusiasm. Read more

Davidson Realty is Working with The Northeast Florida Builders Association to Market Two Affordable Jacksonville Homes Recently Renovated as Part of NEFBA’s Annual President’s Project

Academy-1Davidson Realty is honored to be chosen by the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) to market two affordable single-family homes recently renovated by NEFBA as part of its community-focused President’s Project.  The homes, which are part of Jacksonville’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program, are being offered for $85,000 and $110,000 respectively and buyers may qualify for up to $40,000 in down payment assistance. Qualified buyers may purchase one of these homes for $500 down.

The refurbishment of the homes was lead by NEFBA President Michael Bourré and his company Bourré Construction Group. “Given the current economic and market conditions, we wanted to support efforts to help existing neighborhoods right here in Jacksonville that were hit especially hard with foreclosures and neglect,” said  Bourré.  “This is the first time the annual NEFBA President’s Project has renovated an existing home rather than build new and the response has been very positive.” The annual NEFBA President’s Project is an opportunity for the group to both give back to the community and raise funds for its own educational and growth efforts.
