Understanding Realtors Make a Difference in Selling Distressed Properties

Dottie LayI have been working with many homeowners lately that are in a distressed financial situation. They aren’t able to pay their mortgage any longer and are looking at alternate solutions, like a Short Sale and, in extreme cases, foreclosure. Unfortunately, this has become quite a common occurrence, which is why there are so many foreclosures in Jacksonville and the rest of the Northeast Florida real estate market. As the homeowners make these difficult decisions, they feel grief and sadness.  It is my job to help my clients with their real estate transactions, however, as I work with them they become my friends too. His specialty is homes in golf course communities. Pauline Cake (far left with real estate partner/husband Woody Cake) – who specializes in selling The Neighborhoods of World Golf Village – won top lister with just under $400,000 in listings sold. DSCN0312Yes, times are tough and people are cutting budgets and reducing spending every chance they get. Unfortunately, it also means that there are more families and children in need of help than in previous years, and with people watching their spending and cutting budgets, non-profits are taking a big hit. That’s why we are more proud than ever of our real estate agents, who showed tremendous generosity this holiday season despite the tough year for the Jacksonville real estate industry.

We continued with our annual tradition of collecting toys for Sertoma Toys for Tots. We had collection bins at all of our open houses, but times were tight and they didn’t seem to be getting nearly as full as usual. So, Davidson Realty employees agreed to forgo their own holiday gift exchange Read more
