Inspired to Give: MasterCraft Builder Group Supports Davidson Cares Clay Day

November 18, 2021

 |

The Davidson Cares Clay Day has been a successful event from every standpoint. MasterCraft Builder Group is to thank for the inspiration behind Clay Day as it’s modeled after MasterCraft Builder Groups’ very own charity shoot called Clays for a Cause.

“When I asked Chris Shee, Founder and CEO of MasterCraft Builder Group, about his charity shoot, he generously shared all the details we needed to begin our shoot,” shared Davidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson. “Since our first Davidson Cares Clay Day in 2016, MasterCraft has supported us and been sponsors every year.”

With deep roots in Northeast Florida, MasterCraft is an organization passionate about serving the community and continuously puts its neighbors first. “MasterCraft is a huge supporter of Davidson Cares because of the local factor.  We prefer to keep our giving to organizations like St. Augustine Youth Services and Investing in Kids because they help children who live in “our backyard”.  There is a great sense of community in St. Johns County and it’s events like Clay Day that help our local kids who need it most,” shares President of MasterCraft Builder Group, Brad Shee.

MasterCraft takes pride in not only building great semi-custom homes in St. Johns County but strives to take care of the people in the community. In addition to Clays for a Cause, MasterCraft also organized Concerts for a Cause, a concert series at the Tringali Barn, and built the Home from the Heart for Builders Care last year. They donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities.

Davidson Cares Clay Day is proud to have the support and sponsorship from MasterCraft Builder Group as they continue to support local charities. To learn more about MasterCraft Builder Group, visit their website at mastercraftbuildergroup.com or call (904) 295-1604.

NORTHEAST FLORIDA BUILDERS ARE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND FOR NEW HOMES. HERE’S HOW SOME BUILDERS ARE MANAGING THE PROCESS.

June 23, 2021

 |

Persistence and patience are the name of the game in the current real estate market as every corner of the industry has been rattled by uncertainty as a side effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Northeast Florida real estate market is as hot as many in our industry have ever seen,” shares Davidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson. “There are not enough homes on the market to satisfy buyer demand. Resale homes coming available are getting multiple offers usually within hours to a day and offers are mostly above list price. In May of this year, more than 41% of homes closed were over asking price,” Sherry continues. Even the new construction housing market has experienced challenges that are requiring home seekers to adapt. We’ve connected with some of the talented home builders in Northeast Florida to get an update on their current conditions.

Riverside Homes

“Riverside Homes continues to see very strong demand and we have made a few changes to our process to ensure the very best quality homes and provide the great building experience the people expect from Riverside Homes. We limit the amount of sales in each of our communities so we can keep a smooth process for permitting and building our homes. We closely monitor increasing supply costs each month doing our best to offer the most competitive home pricing,” shares Riverside Homes Sales Manager, Jacki Matthews. Despite the building supply shortages plaguing builders across the country, Riverside Homes promises to maintain the integrity and quality of their homes.

Ashley Homes

Ashley Homes experienced a surge in sales and are currently sold out in Silverleaf, and have been since February 2021. “During the pandemic, we had no limits on sales and sold everything that we had available. Ashley Homes includes escalation clauses in many of our contracts, as do other builders, to protect us and our buyers from unforeseen lumber and material increases. Our buyer may pay a modest increase just to cover the rising material costs, but Ashley Homes has no profit added, shares Ashley Homes’ very own Greg Souris. Ashley Homes is navigating the home building process with their buyers, many who have seen more than $40,000-$50,000 increase in their home value before their home construction even started.

Providence Homes

“In E-Town we are not limiting pre-sales or inventory homes, however, some of our policies have changed on when we can release inventory homes for sales. In Nocatee, we are limiting the pace of sales so we can manage the construction process,” shares Brenda Harris, Sales Associate at Providence Homes. Build time is approximately eight months, but Providence Homes is asking for flexibility and understanding from customers as material shortages could cause delays.

MasterCraft Builder Group

Brad Shee, MasterCraft Builder Group President, shared, “The shortage of materials began in March 2021 as suppliers burned through inventory. Based on the lumber futures chart, lumber prices should start dropping. Because of the shortages, MasterCraft Builder Group is limiting sales each month in TrailMark and Rivertown.” The demand for homes in Northeast Florida is unprecedented, but it’s no surprise as the attraction to the First Coast is clear from the ocean to the river to the affordable cost of living.

With more than 30 years of experience, Davidson Realty has cultivated strong relationships with some of the area’s leading home builders in Northeast Florida. Davidson Realty Agents know the new constructions market in Northeast Florida and can help you find the perfect lot and design to fit your needs. “Our agents are constantly talking to builder site agents to stay current on which builders have inventory and how they are managing the sales process. This constant communication allows our agents to know if a sale falls through, what is available, and the timing and process of the homesites that will be released so our clients can take advantage,” shares Sherry Davidson.

The real estate experts at Davidson Realty will be by your side throughout the construction process to ensure your expectations and vision comes to life! For more information on new construction homes in Northeast Florida, call Davidson Realty at (904) 940-5000.

Davidson Cares Clay Day: Giving Back to Northeast Florida

December 11, 2020

 |

It is no secret that 2020 has been a year of ups and downs. Despite the overwhelming obstacles, Davidson Cares Clay Day 2020 raised more than $40,500 for outstanding organizations to continue their vital work for our community thanks to the generosity of sponsors, volunteers, and participants.

“We considered canceling the 5th Annual Davidson Cares Clay Day, but knew the need from the charities that benefit from the event was too great. We thought even if we raised less money than normal, it was still funds the charities needed. Our team got creative and staggered the times for check-in and shooting, and did not gather for lunch or awards. We offered lots of snacks and drinks and handled the awards virtually the following day. We missed some of the interaction but the day was a huge success,” shared Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson.

Congratulations to this year’s winners which included: ECS (1st Place – North Course), Providence Homes (2nd Place – North Course), Steve Merill’s Team (1st Place – South Course), and MasterCraft Builder Group (2nd Place – South Course).

Over the past five years, Davidson Cares Clay Day has raised more than $202,500 for organizations dedicated to supporting and uplifting Northeast Florida residence. This year Davidson Cares donated $13,500 to St. Augustine Youth Services, Investing in Kids!, and Builders Care.

St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) has been serving Florida’s at-risk youth since 1989. SAYS provides coaching, counseling, and care centered around family-style therapeutic group homes and outpatient community services. Over the past thirty years, SAYS has provided treatment for thousands of children who have suffered abuse or neglect. Their programs bring crucial mental health services to hundreds of young people in St. Johns, Flagler, Volusia, and Putnam county.

Investing in Kids! (INK!) help fund innovative programs and classroom resources for St. Johns County public school students. Established in 1994, INK! has inspired the greater community to invest in education. The funds raised from Davidson Cares Clay Day will support their Five Learning Years (FLY) and Take Stock in Children programs. FLY was developed to ensure children are prepared for success when starting kindergarten by providing educational intervention. Take Stock in Children is a statewide program that offers students college scholarships, mentoring, and hope for a better future. INK! is the exclusive umbrella agency for this program in St. Johns County.

Builders Care is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides little to no cost contracting services to those in need of critical home repairs. Their mission is to provide quality home reconstruction to those who would otherwise be unable to afford it. Since 2001, Builders Care has assisted more than six hundred families totaling more than $6.5 million worth of construction to Jacksonville’s neediest families. Builders Care enlists volunteers and construction professionals to make homes handicapped-accessible, repair roofs, siding and leaks, and any other necessary repairs.

It is clear that these organizations are making a huge difference in our community. Davidson Cares Clay Day is proud to have raised more than $40,000 for these worthy causes and Davidson Cares is grateful for the continued support from their network of trade partners and friends who have helped make an impact when our community needs it the most! Community First – MasterCraft Builder Group Supports Davidson Cares Clay Day

November 16, 2020

 |

For many years, Davidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson heard about an incredible event and fundraiser called Clays for a Cause hosted by MasterCraft Builder Group. Mastercraft Builder Group put together the event for friends and trade partners to raise money for local charities while enjoying each other’s company at the same time.

Clays for a Cause and MasterCraft Builder Group have not only been major supporters of Davidson Cares Clay Day but truly the inspiration behind it. “I drew inspiration for Davidson Cares Clay Days from MasterCraft’s Clays for a Cause because of how wonderful and fruitful of an event Chris Shee, Founder and CEO of MasterCraft Builder Group, had put together with this team. When I decided I wanted to do something similar, I reached out to Chris and he provided me the insight that allowed me to create an event that was our own,” shares Sherry.

With deep roots in Northeast Florida, MasterCraft Builder Group appreciates the importance of being an integral part of this community and giving back. MasterCraft Builder Group is a semi-custom builder and community developer that specializes in thoughtful designs and exceptional quality to meet the needs of the modern family by providing luxury living at an affordable price. MasterCraft Builder Group currently has homes in RiverTown, TrailMark, SilverLeaf, Shearwater, and Madeira. For the second year in a row, MasterCraft Builder Group has been proudly named the “Best Home Builder” in St. Augustine.

“Whenever I think of Chris Shee, I remember when he told me ‘You can’t out give God’. That has stuck with me and I am constantly inspired by his good work and dedication to our community,” Sherry Davidson said. Chris Shee and his team definitely have giving hearts. This year, MasterCraft Builder Group partnered with nonprofit Builders Care to build the 2020 Home From The Heart and will be donating more than $100,000 to the organization to support their mission to provide affordable to no-cost construction services to the elderly, disabled, and other nonprofits in Northeast Florida.
