There is a chill in the air which means it’s time to kick your holiday spirit into high gear! Thankfully, across Northeast Florida, there are ample opportunities to fill your calendar with family-friendly jolly good times. 

 

 

 

Deck the Chairs 

November 24 – January 1

Head down to Jacksonville Beach for chair decorating, music, hot chocolate, and plenty of twinkling lights. More than forty American Red Cross lifeguard chairs will be decked out in nautical-themed decor and lights. This free event has family fun for everyone. 

 

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens ZOOLights

December 10-12, 17-19, 22-24 & 26

For the last ten years, ZOOLights has provided a magical holiday light experience amongst the zoo animals. The zoo truly comes alive at this nightly event where mesmerizing lights, musical performances, and Wildlife Carousel rides have you looking up, down, and around. 

 

Beaches North Pole Express

December 10 and December 11

All aboard! Chug over to the Beaches Museum to climb on the North Pole Express to write a letter to Santa, make crafts, and enjoy a night of holiday festivities. Pre-registration is required and can be completed by clicking here.  

 

19th Annual Gingerbread House Extravaganza

December 4-22, Closed Mondays and on December 19

The Jacksonville Historical Society will host their annual Gingerbread Extravaganza at Old St. Andrew’s Church, across from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. Walk-ins are welcome, however pre-purchasing tickets is encouraged to tour the exhibit of gingerbread houses, holiday gift shop, bake shop, silent auction, and have the opportunity to vote for your favorite display!

 

First Coast Nutcracker

December 17-19

Experience the timeless Tchaikovsky ballet that is a time-honored family tradition with the only performance of The Nutcracker in Jacksonville with a full, live symphony orchestra. This spectacular performance will dazzle you from start to finish. Purchase tickets today! 

 

St. Augustine Nights of Lights Festival 

November 20, 2021 – January 31, 2022

The Nights of Lights Festival is perhaps the most iconic holiday tradition in Northeast Florida. This award-winning holiday lights display features more than three million lights dancing and dazzling across every corner of the St. Augustine historic district. Take a walk or schedule a tour for a night you’ll never forget.

Inspired to Give: MasterCraft Builder Group Supports Davidson Cares Clay Day

The Davidson Cares Clay Day has been a successful event from every standpoint. MasterCraft Builder Group is to thank for the inspiration behind Clay Day as it’s modeled after MasterCraft Builder Groups’ very own charity shoot called Clays for a Cause. 

 

“When I asked Chris Shee, Founder and CEO of MasterCraft Builder Group, about his charity shoot, he generously shared all the details we needed to begin our shoot,” shared Davidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson. “Since our first Davidson Cares Clay Day in 2016, MasterCraft has supported us and been sponsors every year.”

 

With deep roots in Northeast Florida, MasterCraft is an organization passionate about serving the community and continuously puts its neighbors first. “MasterCraft is a huge supporter of Davidson Cares because of the local factor.  We prefer to keep our giving to organizations like St. Augustine Youth Services and Investing in Kids because they help children who live in “our backyard”.  There is a great sense of community in St. Johns County and it’s events like Clay Day that help our local kids who need it most,” shares President of MasterCraft Builder Group, Brad Shee. 

 

MasterCraft takes pride in not only building great semi-custom homes in St. Johns County but strives to take care of the people in the community. In addition to Clays for a Cause, MasterCraft also organized Concerts for a Cause, a concert series at the Tringali Barn, and built the Home from the Heart for Builders Care last year. In association with the event, there was also a raffle contest. Prizes include a 65-quart YETI cooler with 13 full-size liquors and a pod for Concerts for a Cause. 

 

Money raised from the event and raffles went directly to Builders Care, St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS), and Investing in Kids (INK!) in equal sums.

Together is Better: iVenture Supports Davidson Cares Clay Day

Over the past six years, Davidson Cares Clay Day has brought countless people together to give back to the Northeast Florida community. Many of those who support the event are friends of the Davidson Companies. iVenture is just one of those professional relationships that have continuously joined in the efforts of Davidson Cares. 

 

iVenture has been a Davidson Cares sponsor for five years. This year, Davidson Cares was proud to have iVentures support at the highest level of sponsorship. In addition to making up three teams of shooters, they also sponsor the shoot after party.

Davidson Cares Clay Day: Changing Lives in Northeast Florida

Davidson Cares is committed to supporting organizations in Northeast Florida that focus on enriching children and families. This year, thanks to generous sponsors, volunteers, and participants, Davidson Cares Clay Day 2021 raised more than $75,000 for three organizations to continue their incredible work for our First Coast community. 

 

“The 2021 Davidson Cares Clay Day was the most successful in our six-year history. We sold out forty sporting clays teams and had fourteen beginner skeet shooters. The sponsors and shooter’s generosity enabled us to help so many in our community through Investing in Kids, Builders Cares, and St. Augustine Youth Services.,” shared Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson. 

 

Congratulations to this year’s winners which included: Hoodz Team (1st Place – North Course), Hutson Companies (2nd Place – North Course), HB Next (3rd Place – North Course), Steve Merill’s Team (1st Place – South Course), Thomas May Construction (2nd Place – South Course), and JCTS Club Team (3rd Place – South Course). Additionally, congratulations to Cooler & Cocktail Raffle winner Kaitlin McCurdy and Concerts for a Cause Raffle winner Rick Wood. 

 

Davidson Cares Clay Day has raised more than $345,000 over the last six years for organizations dedicated to supporting and uplifting Northeast Florida residents. This year Davidson Cares donated $25,000 to St. Augustine Youth Services, Investing in Kids!, and Builders Care. 

 

St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS) has been serving Florida’s at-risk youth since 1989. SAYS provides coaching, counseling, and care centered around family-style therapeutic group homes and outpatient community services. Over the past thirty years, SAYS has provided treatment for thousands of children who have suffered abuse or neglect. Their programs bring crucial mental health services to hundreds of young people in St. Johns, Flagler, Volusia, and Putnam county. 

 

Investing in Kids! (INK!) help fund innovative programs and classroom resources for St. Johns County public school students. Established in 1994, INK! has inspired the greater community to invest in education. The funds raised from Davidson Cares Clay Day will support their Five Learning Years (FLY) and Take Stock in Children programs. FLY was developed to ensure children are prepared for success when starting kindergarten by providing educational intervention. Take Stock in Children is a statewide program that offers students college scholarships, mentoring, and hopes for a better future. INK! is the exclusive umbrella agency for this program in St. Johns County. 

 

Builders Care is a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides little to no cost contracting services to those in need of critical home repairs. Their mission is to provide quality home reconstruction to those who would otherwise be unable to afford it. Since 2001, Builders Care has assisted more than six hundred families totaling more than $6.5 million worth of construction to Jacksonville’s neediest families. Builders Care enlists volunteers and construction professionals to make homes handicapped-accessible, repair roofs, siding and leaks, and any other necessary repairs. 

 

These organizations are changing lives in our community. Committed to Community – Riverside Homes Supports Davidson Cares Clay Day

Six years ago, Davidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson aspired to organize a clay shoot to raise money for local, worthy organizations. “As we began planning, I knew I needed sponsors. My first call was to Chris Wood, co-owner of Riverside Homes,” shares Davidson. “Chris immediately agreed to the largest sponsorship and Riverside Homes has continued that same support every year.”
