MOD 2010What are you and your friends doing on Saturday, November 12th? I know the perfect way to get your weekend started! Marching in the March of Dimes‘ annual fundraiser, the March for Babies walk, is a great way to have quality time with your favorite people.  March of Dimes is an organization that provides support for many families in OUR community.  They are dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

I have participated in the walk for the last 4 years with Davidson Realty. Davidson Realty has been participating for the past 16 years. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. The views from the school over the Intracostal are absolutely beautiful! The energy from the participants is guaranteed to warm your heart and put a smile on your face.  To top that off Dunkin Donuts will get you going on (my favorite) coffee and donuts. There is a DJ and Joy Purdy from First Coast News is the MC. Read more

October 28, 2011

sawgrasssignThere are a lot more reasons than golf to call Sawgrass Players Club home. With 1,900 units and 16 neighborhoods including single-family homes, condominiums, patio homes, and Vicar’s Landing retirement community, you are sure to find the perfect fit for your lifestyle.

The 1,200 acres of serenity is home to three world-class golf courses (The Valley Course, TPC Stadium Course, and Ponte Vedra Golf & Country Club at Sawgrass), the PGA TOUR headquarters, and extensive waterways off the intracoastal. So, if golf isn’t your thing give boating, fishing, or shopping at  Sawgrass Village a try! And, if that isn’t enough, how about the beautiful beaches of the Atlantic Ocean being less than 2 miles away from your new home?

Your new community is also home to many recreational facilities like an aquatic center, parks, playgrounds, ball fields for a variety of sports, and a pavilion with picnic tables. The Tournament Players Club 77,000 square foot Mediterranean-Style Clubhouse is breath taking and offers a variety of dining options, an expansive gallery, banquet room, meeting spaces, and a golf shop. When my Mom told me that I would have to volunteer this past Saturday (Oct. 22) for Make a Difference Day, I wasn’t exactly excited.  I play tennis at Ponte Vedra High School on most Saturdays and then hang out with my friends or go to Vilano or St. Augustine Beach.  But as a student at Pacetti Bay Middle School, I am required to do some community service so I figured I may as well get involved with Make a Difference Day.

We teamed up with Davidson Realty who does a lot of community service.  Last year they built wheelchair-friendly access ramps for homes.  This year they connected with the St. Johns Housing Partnership to paint one of 12 homes in need in the St. Augustine area.  We met up Saturday morning at 8:30 at a small house just off King Street in St. Augustine.  Read more

“Capital isn’t scarce; vision is.” Sam Walton

This is a profound statement by Sam Walton and very appropriate today. There are a lot of bright people focused on making it through the day instead of looking forward.

The one consistent story in the market statistics produced by the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors for September is the inventory of homes for sale continues to drop. There were 16,280 active properties for sale in September 2010 and there are 32% less properties (11,011) in September 2011.The inventory has dropped every month in the past year. The months supply of inventory is at 7.7 months supply compared to 11.6 months in September 2010, a 34% decrease. The inventory reductions we are seeing should lead to increased pricing in the future.

Pending sales in September 2011 are up 24% over September 2010. The year to date pending sales for  2011 are up 7% over year to date 2010. The North Florida market has averaged 1,450 pending sales a month for the last 12 months compared to a 1,385 average for the previous 12 months. Read more
