A big Davidson Realty welcome to another new real estate professional in our World Golf Village office: Ken Kochan. Ken has in-depth financial experience thanks to many years of accounting and controller experience. “Ken is an astute ‘numbers guy’ who can offer his clients valuable investment insights and financial guidance when it comes to their real estate transactions,” says President Sherry Davidson.

Ken started his career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche (formerly known as Touche Ross) and went on to work for Fortune 500 companies as well as small entrepreneurial firms.  His career included financial managerial positions with media companies, including Gannett Co, Inc. and CBS News where he was responsible for the finances of news bureaus worldwide.  He also served as Controller for a local Jacksonville importer/wholesaler whose customers included many major consumer goods retailers such as Wal-Mart, CVS and Publix.  Ken graduated from the University of Connecticut with a BS Degree in Accounting. More Great News for Northeast Florida Real Estate in August’s Market Trends!

I am very happy with my starting point in the housing market right now. All of the trends in the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors Market Stats for August continue to be very positive.

The most encouraging trend is Pending Sales. There were 2,011 contracts written (pending sales) in August which is a 34% increase over the 1,497 contracts in August 2011. Year to date through August we have 13,724 pending sales which is 16% more than the 11,879 pending sales last year at this time.  We continue to see strong buyer activity and multiple offers on many listings. Davidson Realty Forms Foundation to Support Local Schools

We are proud to announce the creation of our new Davidson Cares Foundation to support education and our local schools, including Wards Creek Elementary School, Mill Creek Elementary School, Palencia Elementary School and Pacetti Bay Middle School. It will be funded by Davidson Realty’s proceeds from real estate sales and fundraising events. Says Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson, “Quality education and excellent public schools are integral to building a thriving, desirable community.”  She added, “Davidson Realty has been donating to local schools for years but we wanted to do more than just give money.  Davidson Cares gives us the opportunity to donate our time, resources and business proceeds in support of our community.” Read more
