Places to Worship Around Northeast Florida

For many individuals and families, finding a place of worship is so much more than attending a religious ceremony every week. It can provide community, offer a sense of purpose and serve as a sanctuary. There are so many to choose from in Northeast Florida, depending on your denomination and belief system. Here are some in and around Northeast Florida.

 

The Church of Eleven22 – Non-denominational church – 14286 Beach Blvd #2, Jacksonville, FL 32250
A dynamic Christian church with multiple campuses across Northeast Florida, The Church of Eleven Twenty-Two offers engaging worship experiences and Bible-based teaching designed to help people grow in their faith and connect in community. Most campuses offer a Thursday service at 7:22PM and multiple Sunday options, commonly at 7:22AM, 9:22AM, 11:22AM, and around 4:22PM, though times may vary by location. The San Pablo campus in Jacksonville meets Thursdays at 7:22PM and Sundays at 7:22AM, 9:22AM, 11:22AM, and 4:22PM.

 

Reverb Church  – Non-denominational church – 395 S Legacy Trail, St. Augustine, FL 32092

Known as being a multigenerational and multicultural Christian church, Reverb offers service on Saturdays at 5PM and 7PM and Sundays at 9AM and 11AM.

 

The Village Church – Interdenominational church – 4229 Pacetti Rd, St. Augustine, FL 32092

Known as being interdenominational, the Village welcomes Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, Presbyterians, Episcopalians and agnostics. They offer a modern worship experience at 9AM on Sundays and a traditional worship at 11AM on Sundays. On months with a fifth Sunday, they offer a combined experience at 10AM.

 

Hindu Society of Northeast Florida (HSNEF) – Hindu temple – 4968 Greenland Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32258

HSNEF brings together the Hindu community, and their Mandir (Temple) facility hosts daily worship services and offers special rituals with sanctity in line with Vedic traditions. Temple hours are Monday through Friday, 9-11:30AM and 5-8PM, with Arati at 9:45AM and 7PM; and Saturday & Sunday 9AM-8:30PM, with Arati at 11:45AM and 7PM.

 

Congregation Ahavath Chesed – Reform synagogue – 8727 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32217

Also called The Temple Jacksonville, this place of worship is a Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue. It is one of the oldest Jewish congregations in Florida and one of the first formally incorporated. Erev Shabbat (Friday evening) service is held every Friday at 6:30PM and Torah study is on Saturdays at 9AM.

 

The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception – Catholic basilica – 121 E Duval St, Jacksonville, FL 32202

A historic Catholic church in downtown Jacksonville, the basilica represents Jacksonville’s oldest Catholic congregation. Dating back to 1910, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1992 and was named a minor basilica in 2013. They offer mass in English and Spanish. Their weekday mass times are Monday-Saturday at 7:30AM and Monday-Friday at 12:10PM. Their weekend mass times are Saturday at 12:10PM and Sunday at 10AM and 12PM in English and 2PM in Spanish.

 

Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine – Catholic cathedral – 38 Cathedral Pl, St. Augustine, FL 32084

A historic cathedral in downtown St. Augustine, and the seat of the Catholic Bishop of St. Augustine, the Cathedral was constructed from 1793–1797 and was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1970. Its congregation was established in 1565, making it the oldest Christian congregation in the contiguous United States. The mass schedule is as follows: Monday-Friday 7AM; Saturday 7AM and 5PM; and Sunday 7AM, 9AM, 11AM, and 5PM.

 

Grace United Methodist Church – United Methodist church – 8 Carrera St, St. Augustine, FL 32084

A historic church built in 1886-1887 in downtown St. Augustine, it was donated to the people by Henry Flagler and was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1979. They offer two services on Sundays: Contemporary Worship at 9AM and Traditional Worship at 11AM.
