4 local communities to get excited about in 2020

When I speak with customers who are relocating to the Jacksonville area, they are often overwhelmed by the choice of where to buy. That’s not surprising considering Jacksonville is the largest city in the continental U.S. by area.

Aside from choosing between the beaches, urban core, suburban communities and rural areas, there are many choices for neighborhoods. I’m always researching the up-and-coming and exciting new neighborhoods that would be great for buyers seeking a safe and high-quality place to live and work.

Here are some of our most exciting neighborhoods heading into 2020:

Wildlight

Location: Take exit 373 off I95 in Nassau County and head east. The Wildlight StoryCenter is located at 123 Tinker Street, Wildlight, FL 32097.

Why it’s great: This part of Nassau County is still pristinely untouched and absolutely breathtaking. Nearly half of Wildlight’s 24,000 acres will be reserved for conservation. Wildlight is often compared to Nocatee, a similar master-planned development to the south, however it will be almost twice as big (24,000 homes are planned). A wellness center, recreational amenities, hotel and town center are also planned.

Silverleaf

Location: Set in the northwest sector of St. Johns County, Silverleaf will be set along Silverleaf Parkway, which runs from Country Road 210 at the north end to State Road 16 at the south end.

Why it’s great: Buyers will love the choice in homes as Silverleaf’s 10,700 residences will be mixed between single-family homes and multi-family units. A full spectrum of amenities as well as stores and office spaces are also planned for the community, which falls within the #1 school district in the state, St. Johns County. Residents will also love the easy access to Jacksonville and St. Augustine.

eTown

Location: Take I295 to the 9B extension and look for the eTown exit. The welcome center is located at 11003 E-Town Parkway.

Why it’s great: Innovative technology and energy efficiency is built into every element in eTown and its five communities, including Nobel at eTown, Kettering at eTown, Marconi at eTown, Edison at eTown and Del Webb eTown (a 55+ active adult community). The amenities are also state-of-the-art, including a roof-top lounge above the high-tech clubhouse, huge resort-style pool, yoga lawn and more.

Beachwalk

Location: Contrary to the name, Beachwalk is located about 15 minutes inland along County Road 210 between Philips Highway (US1) and I95.

Why it’s great: Beachwalk, which is still under development, has nailed the beach resort feel with its 14-acre Crystal Lagoon and sandy beach, swim-up bar, waterslides, 18-hole putting course, private clubhouse, and much more. Beachwalk also has five residential communities (single- and multi-family homes) as well as a retail/commercial village. Residents are zoned to A-rated St. Johns County schools.

Beachwalk sits adjacent to Beacon Lake, another up-and-coming St. Johns County community, which boasts resort style amenities and a 43-acre, paddle-friendly lake.
