MOD 2010What are you and your friends doing on Saturday, November 12th? I know the perfect way to get your weekend started! Marching in the March of Dimes‘ annual fundraiser, the March for Babies walk, is a great way to have quality time with your favorite people.  March of Dimes is an organization that provides support for many families in OUR community.  They are dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

I have participated in the walk for the last 4 years with Davidson Realty. Davidson Realty has been participating for the past 16 years. Registration starts at 8 a.m. at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. The views from the school over the Intracostal are absolutely beautiful! The energy from the participants is guaranteed to warm your heart and put a smile on your face.  To top that off Dunkin Donuts will get you going on (my favorite) coffee and donuts. There is a DJ and Joy Purdy from First Coast News is the MC. Read more

IMG_5292Looking back at my weekend, I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed my Saturday. My husband, daughters and I jumped out of bed at 6 a.m. For the past three years, I have helped the March of Dimes raise money for the March for Babies in the annual fundraiser walk. We start off at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. What a beautiful place! It is located on the Intracoastal Waterways. GORGEOUS!!!!!

Arriving at 8 a.m. it wasn’t too early for fabulous cupcakes from Lulu’s and donuts from Dunkins! As we got our coffee on, we could feel the energy in the air, not only from my teammates but from the many other teams that surrounded us.  Joy Purdy, a new mother herself, was the MC.  She sure did know how to get us warmed up. As I was eating my (first) donut, Joy got the party going with the Cha Cha Slide. Although I didn’t participate, my eldest daughter, Audrey, was not afraid to get her groove on! Read more

March of Dimes photos 2009What do you have planned on Saturday, November 6th?  If you want to enjoy the cooler weather, company of your friends and support an important cause, then I have the event for you!  March of Dimes is an organization that provides support for many families in OUR community.  They are dedicated to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

I have participated in the annual fundraiser walk, March for Babies, for March of Dimes for the past 3 years. I truly look forward to this wonderful Saturday morning. The energy of the people that participate is unbelievable! When you arrive this year at 8 a.m. to register, there will be a D.J. and Joy Purdy from Channel 12 to get our spirits up.  Since America runs on Dunkin Donuts, we will be marching on Dunkin Donuts’ fabulous coffee. After we get done with our walk, Firehouse Subs is providing lunch.  There will be carnival games with prizes for the children. And, to top it off, the Bluebell ice cream truck will be there with dessert!

We start at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind and “march” 4.5 miles through the historic district of St. Augustine. If you have never been to downtown St. Augustine, it is such a beautiful area.  Please come and join Davidson Realty’s team!

If you would like more information, please call 904-940-5000 or http://www.marchforbabies.org/team/t1354247.  To see what March for Babies is and why we are walking you can check this YouTube video out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ1CsZbjY0g. Please bring a $10 donation for the cure. March of Dimes spends $.76 for every dollar donated. We hope to see you there!

March of Dimes TeamDavidson Realty President, Sherry Davidson, understands the impact that March of Dimes has on people. She became active in the charity over 10 years ago and has remained a strong supporter due to the loss of her daughter many years ago. Sherry’s daughter, Megan, died of Osteogenesis Imperfecta Maxima, a condition that causes very fragile bones. March of Dimes ran multiple tests for free to determine why Megan died and if the disease was genetic. While Sherry was getting her tests done, her eyes were opened to the impact March of Dimes makes on so many lives. Because of March of Dimes, Sherry got her answers. Read more
