KristnWe have been introducing you to our Realtor team on this blog  for a while now. And we have been introducing you to World Golf Village residents on our WGV blog. Recently, we thought it would be a great idea to let you meet our staff too! Of course, we want it to be as entertaining as it is informative, so we decided to ask a different team member 10 quirky questions each month…just like Vanity Fair does to actors or politicians in each of their issues. This month, we decided to feature Kristen Calhoun. You will be seeing her name a lot in the coming months because she is going to start posting blogs on both of our sites soon!You will see she is a genuinely wonderful person – who is a bit of a firecracker! Meet Kristen…

1. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Being on the beach, next to my husband with a fabulous glass of champagne, watching my girls play and a beautiful sunset!

2. What is your greatest fear?

Running out of wine.

3. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

Being scared to try something for fear of failure…

4. What is the trait you most deplore in others? Judgment. It is soooo unattractive. (more…)

Jim Davidson Shares His Food Secrets

Jim Davidson is not only the Master Developer of World Golf Village he is also a spectacular chef! Once a month he spoils us at our Friday Cookout, so we wanted to spoil you by giving away some of his secrets. Here is one of his great recipes to try at home:

Jim’s World Famous Meatloaf

 2-1/2 lbs Ground Meat (Beef or Venison) If beef, use lowfat
1-1/2 lbs Ground Pork
1 Fine Chopped Large Onion
1 15oz. can Hunts Tomato Sauce
1 14oz. can Diced Tomato (Drain Juice)
2 Large or XL Eggs beaten
Dust meat with Goya Adobo All Purpose Seasoning
Dust  meat with Black Pepper
Light Dust meat with Salt
10-20 drops Louisiana Hot Sauce
20+ drops A1 Sauce
½ cup Progresso Bread Crumbs – Plain
Ketchup swirl on top of each Meatloaf
Makes 2 – 10” x 6” x 2” Meatloafs – When you put each loaf in pan make sure that meat doesn’t touch any sides of pan.
Put in Aluminum Pans – 12” x 10-1/2”
Preheat oven 350°, cook uncovered on top shelf for approximately 2 hours or until 160° – 180°. May take a little less time.
Remember: This is a “Hands On” recipe. I wouldn’t recommend using your feet “like with grapes” but you MUST make sure every ingredient is thoroughly mixed.

10 Things You Don’t Know About Ashley Wood

And we want you to get to know all of them, so from time to time we will post a blog about one of us! Today we are going to introduce you to Ashley Wood. Although she loves listing and selling houses in St. Augustine, she has many other interest too. Here are 1o things you may not have known about Ashley…until now!

1. Ashley started playing the trumpet in the 7th grade. 

2. She currently plays in the St. Augustine Community Orchestra. (Did you even know we had an orchestra? Better yet, they are good!)

3. Ashley is a red belt in Tae Kwan Do and expects to get a black belt by December 2011.

4. She recently won a gold and bronze at the state Tae Kwan Do competition.

5. And she is determined to win two golds when competing in the Tae Kwan Do nationals at the end of June.

6. The premature birth of her daughter made her decide to be a stay at home mom…she realized no one could take care of her children the way she could!

7. Ashley got her real estate license in 2005. 

8. She decided to work at Davidson Realty at World Golf Village because she loves the family atmosphere we have here.

9. Ashley believes her best business attribute is giving great customer service and maintaining the relationships long after the sale.

10. Ashley is unique and she loves it! When Davidson Realty took a personality test, she was the only one in the “Explorer” category!
