Doug has traveled in all 50 states and over 40 other countries. He has lived in 8 states and chooses to call Royal Pines in World Golf Village home.  He and his wife, Terressa, who have 3 children and 11 grandchildren, recently returned from their 27^th cruise and can hardly wait for next years!

December, 2009 marks 55 years of versatility in the workforce for Doug. He has truly tried it all, from 16 years of aircraft engineering and top secret computer programming for the Strategic Air Command to 11 years as a certified personal trainer and owner of his own gym. He never stops challenging himself personally or professionally.

Doug has developed and explored many hobbies throughout his life, such as weightlifting, running, yoga, hiking, scuba diving, reading and more. He has been teaching the Bible for the past 40 years at Sunday school, home studies, business studies and prison ministries as well as put in over 10,000 hours of study time to learn the Bible. Doug says, “While I love my real estate job, I do try to keep my priorities in order: God, family, health and job. I’m convinced that distorting that order is detrimental to each one”.

Doug’s knowledge and experience helps him relate to all walks of life and makes him the excellent real estate agent he is today. This past June, Doug was named Top Producer, Top Lister and Top Sales Agent for the month, a feat that not many have accomplished. He is also a Certified Distressed Property Expert, available to help families avoid foreclosure.

Doug is the full embodiment of his past; intelligent, genuine and sincere. Davidson Realty is lucky to have him as part of the team!

The Speaker Series is designed to present current issues and trends affecting the real estate industry and homeowners.  Roy will present “Where the Housing Crisis in Northeast Florida and the Bankruptcy Court Intersect.”

Roy will discuss the potential tax consequences of losing control of a piece of real estate and provide answers to questions like, “If I lose control of a piece of property, can  I ever own and finance another home in the foreseeable future?” and much more.

Roy’s practice is devoted exclusively to bankruptcy law. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, he has been representing debtors in Northeast Florida since 1969. Roy has contributed to nearly one dozen published works and holds memberships and leadership positions in many professional associations, including the Northern District of Florida Bankruptcy Bar Association, Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association and the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys.

The Speaker Series events are free and open to the public and include a complimentary wine and cheese social. Roy’s presentation will be followed by an open question and answer session.
