Around the World with the Davidson Companies!

DSC_7726We had an incredible time eating, drinking and socializing around the world at this year’s awards banquet. From America to Germany, Italy to France, Japan and Asia, and back around to the Caribbean, we had a blast enjoying delicious authentic cuisine thanks to Chef Andre and Past Time Café & Catering, trying the local spirits of the region and even donning some fun accessories. 

President of Davidson Realty Sherry Davidson started the evening with a reminder that our company goal written in 2005 still holds true in 2012 – “That the Davidson Companies are the best that we can be. We don’t want to be the biggest real estate company, but we aim to be the best in our geographic area in customer service. We want every person that calls our development or realty office to be treated with respect. We hope their experience with Davidson leaves them thinking we are professional, honest, caring and helpful. And we hope they refer someone they know to call Davidson!”

Then Sherry presented the 2011 awards! Thank you to Beverly Morse, Elsie Evans, Shirley Barber, Matt Davidson, Ted Tyndall, and Jock Ochiltree for their 5 years of service with the Davidson Companies. Mirtha Barzaga and Sharon King took home the “Values People First Awards” for always supporting, congratulating, problem solving, and motivating with a smile on their faces. (more…)

Florida Trend Magazine Names Davidson Realty One of Florida’s Best Companies to Work For

bestco_logoWhat can we say?  When you got it, you got it!  Davidson Realty made Florida Trend’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For.  This latest accolade follows on the heels of Davidson being named to the Jacksonville Business Journal’s lists of the fastest growing companies in north Florida and one of the best places to work.  “These awards validate our company mission which has always been to value people first – before, over and above everything else,” said Sherry Davidson. 

To identify Florida’s best employers, Florida Trend partnered with the Best Companies Group, which surveyed companies about their policies, practices and demographics.  The second part of the process involved a survey sent to a sample group of each company’s employees who responded anonymously to 72 questions.  The survey also included two open-ended questions and seven demographic questions. The questions focused on eight themes: Leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and development; pay and benefits; and overall engagement. Davidson Realty #25 on Business Journal 50 List

First the Jacksonville Business Journal names Davidson Realty one of the Best Places to Work, then June was our best sales month in years and now we’ve been named to the Business Journal’s 50 List!  The Business Journal 50 identifies the fastest growing private companies in Northeast Florida.  Davidson Realty came in at #25.  “We’re honored to make the 50 list.  It’s especially gratifying to have come through the worst economic crisis and real estate industry bust in our company’s history and, not just survived, but prospered,” said Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson.  Sherry, Jim Davidson, Rick Pariani, and Peyton Davidson attended the Business Journal 50 luncheon which honors the list-makers. 2011-07-14_13-44-50_454

Davidson Realty, based in World Golf Village, has become one of the top 10 real estate companies in Northeast Florida.  We have major market share in the World Golf Village and north St. Johns County area and our reach has also expanded to include Ponte Vedra and the beaches, Julington Creek and Flagler County.  Several Davidson agents hold the CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) designation which gives them expertise at helping clients navigate short sales, foreclosures and distressed property situations.

• Privately held, for profit and locally owned.
• Headquartered in Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Nassau, Baker, Flagler or Putnam counties.
• In operation since at least 2007.
• Annual revenue of at least $1 million in 2010.
• Overall revenue growth from 2008 to 2010 with revenue gain from 2009 to 2010.

Jacksonville Business Journal Names Davidson Realty the Best Place to Work

Check out the Jacksonville Business Journal’s latest Best Places to Work report and you’ll find Davidson Realty at the top of the list.  That’s right. We’ve been named the Best Place to Work, Small Business category.  In fact, we’ve made the list for the last seven years and topped it twice. Says Davidson Realty President Sherry Davidson, “We put a lot of stock in this recognition which is awarded based on direct feedback from employees.  We value our team at Davidson Realty. They have helped us not just survive a tough real estate market, but thrive and expand the business. Without question, our people are our greatest asset.”IMG_5326

The rankings for this list are done by Quantum Workplace, a third-party company that specializes in measuring workplace satisfaction. Nominations were submitted to The Business Journal by more than 100 companies, with most nominations coming from company employees. The Davidson Companies Celebrated a Winning Year in Vegas Style

163425_10150400201460385_243700390384_16812505_694884_nFriday night was one of the best awards banquets we have ever had and that’s a bold statement when we have celebrated our past year’s successes in ballrooms at Epping Forest, beautiful buildings like Laterra Links, and probably the best Italian Restaurant in Jacksonville, Giovanni’s. This year we went casual and comfortable just like our work-family’s atmosphere. We celebrated at the St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club with a Vegas themed party and had the time of our lives!167100_10150400202275385_243700390384_16812524_1364446_n

We had a DJ, a Margarita Man machine, 5 casino games, slots, Luli’s Cupcakes, a champagne fountain, coolers of beer and wine, and Moes’ catering. That may sound like a hodgepodge of things and it was, but somehow it was perfect!

Davidson Property Management gave awards to Mirtha Barzaga, Margherite Myers, and for the most tenants – Juana Husted. 164157_10150400220105385_243700390384_16812900_4547253_n

Jennifer Todd, Jock Ochiltree, Michelle Gonzalez, Ana Speziale, Pauline & Woody Cake, Ted Tyndall, Mirtha Barzaga, Suzy Evans, and Dottie Lay all received recognition for $2 million or over in closings and/or sales.

DSC00056Suzy Evans was honored with Top Lister with over $3.8 million in listings sold. Dottie walked away with 2 awards – Top Sales with over $6.4 million and Top Closer with over $5.3 million in closings. As you know from the monthly tops blogs, these women worked so hard in 2010 and deserve all their success!

Mirtha was given the President’s Award this year. Davidson Realty’s President’s Award is given to someone that not only produces for the company, but who participates and exemplifies what our company is about. Mirtha had an amazing year with over $4 million in closings and $6 million in sales. (more…)
