World Golf Village: A Growing Vibrant Community

January 8, 2019

I have been in St Augustine and World Golf Village for 15 years.  In that time I have seen many wonderful changes. I feel it is growing to a vibrant community and creating a wonderful environment to live in.  It will be offering retail and outdoor activities for families as well as Senior residents.

Other than one of the most established 55+ communities in WGV, Cascades, which offers single-family homes in a gated community where you can experience a beautiful maintenance free setting along with state-of-the-art recreational amenities in the gorgeous 22,000 sq. ft. Grand Clubhouse; you will be able to choose from a few more 55+ communities, retail, and restaurants nestled in the heart of WGV!

Come back to my blog next week to read about the senior communities that are currently available as well as those coming in the near future! Also visit my FB for more information, tips, and events in the surrounding area

Technology: The New Face of Real Estate

December 26, 2018

Technology seems to be my nemesis, but sometimes I find it can be a great help to my business.  Once I master what I am trying to accomplish with the technology, I find it very easy to complete a task or two.  I watch our next generation of Realtors glide through applications, transactions, and communications, with technology and feel a bit of envy.  The days of painstakingly writing out letters and advertisement pieces, typing and retyping a contract to make copies or correct mistakes are almost gone. Now those things are easily created and corrected with computers.  Working through Real Estate transactions via the computer, advertising on the World Wide Web, and making connections with people through Facebook is the new face of Real Estate (pun intended).

Is screen time the new quality time?

December 11, 2018

I look at the newest tech gadget to come out this season and see that they are marketing to families that live in different areas.  Whether it is a different city or state the newest screen allows people to see one another in a larger space than just a phone or computer headshot. If you are out of the state of Florida and are considering a move, let me help you “see” the area!  I would be happy to show you homes via screen!

10 Reasons Boomers Like Me Choose to Live in North Florida

December 23, 2010

Posted by in Retirement

There’s good reason that Florida’s population continues to grow, by as many as 800 each day. In fact here are 10 reasons Florida, and especially the North Florida region, is a great choice for retirement.

1. North Florida is less crowded and less congested than South Florida.

2. Cost of living:  Florida has no state income tax, and in general our cost of goods is on par or lower than many other metro areas, as is our property taxes.

3. Real estate prices are at an all time low.  There are great “deals” to be had right now – our World Golf Village and surrounding St. Augustine and Jacksonville markets are “on sale” for now but probably not too much longer.

4. We are packed with recreational amenities, including numerous golf courses (my personal favorite is the King & Bear at World Golf Village, but the TPC at Sawgrass is another standout); boating and fishing opportunities thanks to one of the largest rivers in North America, the St. Johns River, several lakes, creeks and of course the Atlantic Ocean; and home to the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team.

5. Our top-notch medical facilities include the Mayo Clinic as well as teaching hospitals at UF Shands.  Some of the best & brightest are involved in the healthcare system in and around Jacksonville & St Augustine.

6. Several 55+ communities offer an active retired lifestyle here, whether you’re looking for a condo or single family home.  One well-located and affordably priced option is The Cascades in World Golf Village. Read more
